The Miners Foundry Cultural Center is a historic event venue, performing arts space, museum, and community gathering place in the heart of downtown Nevada City, California. Built in the mid-1800s from native timber and hand-laid stone, the Foundry has been part of Nevada City’s story for generations.
Today, the Foundry brings people downtown for weddings, concerts, fundraisers, performances, art events, community gatherings, and celebrations of all kinds. A visit often becomes part of a larger Nevada City experience, with guests dining downtown, walking through town, visiting local shops, staying nearby, or meeting friends before the doors open.
The building has a character that is hard to replicate. Its stone walls, timber beams, historic rooms, and warm atmosphere feel both rooted in the past and alive in the present. Many people first visit for one event and return for many others, from concerts and weddings to markets, memorials, community celebrations, and quiet daytime walks through the History Walls.
The Miners Foundry is closely tied to the cultural and economic life of Nevada City. Events held here bring artists, guests, families, vendors, and visitors into the center of town. The Foundry is open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During those hours, visitors may explore the Walking Tour and Miners Foundry History Walls, stop by the box office, or learn more about upcoming events.
For weddings and private events, the Foundry offers a flexible setting for up to 250 guests. Couples and event organizers may bring in their own vendors, shape the space to fit their gathering, and create an event that feels personal, memorable, and true to the people in the room.
More than anything, the Miners Foundry is part of the rhythm of Nevada City. It is a place for music, history, celebration, creativity, remembrance, and community under one historic roof.
